Long layoff no problem as Archbishop Carroll blanks Sacred Heart in PIAA playoffs
The Archbishop Carroll field hockey team hadn’t played a game in two weeks as it stepped on the field Tuesday against Sacred Heart in the opening round of the PIAA Class AA playoffs at Germantown, Pa. Turns out the layoff didn’t hurt. Just more than two minutes into the game, Meg McKee put the Patriots on the scoreboard and they went on to score a 3-0 victory.
